6 arrested for printing fake money in Charlotte County

An investigation into counterfeit money that began in October 2017 has led to six arrests in Charlotte County.

An investigation into counterfeit money that began in October 2017 has led to six arrests in Charlotte County.

Punta Gorda police pulled over 40-year-old Spencer Parr and 37-year-old Andrea Maher in October 2017, and found counterfeit money and a large number of ink cartridges in the car.

Daniel Shirley, 25, was also arrested in October 2017 after he was found with counterfeit money after processing into the Charlotte County jail.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office took over the investigation and executed four search warrants, which helped them find and take more than $7,000 in fake bills, printers, scanners, ink, and paper.

Three more people were arrested in connection with organized counterfeiting.

Sheena McCurdy (33), Kenneth McCurdy (34), and Sheena Fromholz (35) were arrested on multiple economic crime charges.
