CINCINNATI — After a lengthy investigation, Cincinnati police have named several suspects believed to be involved in a mortgage fraud ring spanning over a year.

Cincinnati Police Department Financial Crimes Unit said the investigation began when a Cincinnati resident filed an identity fraud report in October of 2016.

After further investigation, the unit found that a group of six people had filed documents with different Hamilton County offices attempting to illegally retain real estate.

The suspects targeted 10 residential and commercial properties that were in the process of foreclosure, vacant due to being rehabbed or in probate court, police said.

Police have filed a 33-count indictment. So far, they have arrested Jelani Ejua Khamisi, Mariah McCollum and Monai Sherea Brown.

They are still looking for Kimberly Lucille Khamisi, Ayinde Omari Khamisi and Kaia Najja Khamisi.
