Police looking for Philadelphia man after armed holdup at M&T Bank in Newark

An armed man robbed M&T Bank in Newark on Friday afternoon, police say, and they've identified a suspect.

Newark police said Frederick Baynes, 51, went into the bank in the shopping plaza at 550 Suburban Drive at about 3:38 p.m., approached a teller, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The teller gave him cash and he fled, police said.

After interviews, a review of surveillance video and other investigation, police identified Baynes as the suspect.
